Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Bump.
Are there any DP 1.3 monitors already in pipeline? And are GPUs (either discrete or integrated) already capable of DP 1.3?
In meantime, VESA already standardised DP 1.4a.
Do 4K monitors in general run very "hot"? Or is it just UP2414Q? I reduced brightness to 40, but compared to HP ZR2440W (at 100 brightness) it still feels like an oven.
PS. I did expect somewhat warmer screen due to the density of it all, but certainly not this.
So it's true after all. One reviewer (Jeff R.) on Newegg also mentions this issue: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260145
Anybody managed to get 60 Hz in portrait?
PS. Is there really going to be not a single 16:10 4k monitor (3840 x 2400)? :(
Zangmonkey, thank you (very) much for your help. Much appreciated.
Still, if anybody has some knowledge on these built-in tuners, please don't hesitate to reply.
Please, does anybody know how much functionality/capability do those built-in tuners have? I guess not much (how much?), otherwise people wouldn't be buying discrete/separate DVB-S[2] tuners ... or would they? :)
Do modern built-in DVB-S tuners allow for DiSEqC / USALS control of motorized satellite dishes?
If they do, there is no need for HTPC internal DVB-S(2) tuner, is there? I mean, except if you'd want to record something (or does the TV's built-in tuner do this also)?
PS. I did...
Indeed, SR45 read the Book of Revelations: Woe to you O earth and sea, for the Devil sends the Beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short. Let him who hath understanding reckon the Number of the Beast, for it is a human number. Its number is six-hundred and sixty-six. ;)
Just done MEMTESTing (v4.10) as Mike Clements instructed me to.
All MEMTESTing was done with DRAM voltage @ 1.85V and MCH/NB voltage @ 1.40V (stock @ 1.80V and @ 1.25V, respectively).
module (1st "old"): _5 passes - no errors. [ photo ] (All photos @ imageshack.us.)
module (2nd "old"): 10...
This idea does help (I wouldn't thought of it). Indeed, even if I don't have a 2nd comparable (with DDR2-800 support) MB, I could cheaply get a used one (and while am at it, use it to build a "new" PC for my father). I'll go and see what's on sale.
