    Need ne raid card.

Send techbuy an email, thats where i got mine from, for a 1880ix-24 was 1328 + shipping and came with the 6x SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cables. Also there is a few listings for the 1882i and 1882ix on static ice (the 1882i is the latest model)

    Need ne raid card.

Norcos 4224's dont have a built in expander, only the DS boxes do (which the OP isnt talking about) and plenty of people including myself have run that exact expander the OP (infact the same setup the OP is suggesting has been done numerous times) without issue. But the biggest issue the OP...

    Need ne raid card.

Areca cards have the better compatibility with non enterprise drives, an Areca 1882i will give you the ability to run a dual link to your expander card, and give you raid 5,6 etc Its also a very very fast card. You can also upgrade the ram on the card and add a BBU. If you then wanted to add...

ARECA Owner's Thread (SAS/SATA RAID Cards)

Double checked its a forward breakout cable? Ive had this issue in the past and turned out it was the incorrect cable (reverse breakout cable rather then forward breakout cable)

Anyone have experience with Adaptec's new 6 series cards

+1 to Areca cards, i went from an adaptec 52445 to an areca 1880ix-24 and the difference is huge, significantly faster, the UI is alot smoother and offers significantly more features. Also you can look at going for an 8 port like the above said, then get an expander (HP SAS expander as an...

Areca 1880 ixl-24 with sas expander in another system

Yep, you can do this no problem at all, as what above said, its what expanders do. Will turn that 2nd machine into a drive box essentially.

    The Great Wall of Hitachi

Correct me if i am wrong, but wasnt part of the sale of hitachi that Toshiba picked up the majority of the work? they are already selling 1tb drives which are just restickered hitachi's, so eventually when toshiba start manufacturing 4tb's you would just get one of those?

EVGA Supernova 1500w PSU teased an hour ago

Your main concern with HDD's is making sure the 12v rail/rails can handle the initial start up spike of the drives booting. With staggered spinup i can run 38 7200rpm drives off a single Corsair TX-750 because of its beefy single 12v rail. With a PSU like this from EVGA, with staggered...

    Lian Li PC-TU200 Mini-ITX Case

Yeah the thermals on this case are very ordinary, wouldnt want to have a hot GPU in it thats for sure. The Q25 or Q08 are a much better solution for thermals since they both have removable hdd racks (the Q08 comee out in two parts) and exhaust fans (120mm)
