    Location of comp. matter?

    Heres something: Feel the wall with your hand (im guessing its painted concrete). Is it relatively cool? If so, then the air that the fan is pulling into the case is being cooled as it moves across the wall......you may be doing yourself a favor by putting it there.

    I think his cpu has quite a bit to do with it. I tried playing it on my roomate's 1.6 P4 willamette w/ a Geforce3 64mb and 768mb ram - I got around 30fps but it was too laggy and choppy to call it "playable".

    Neither. Get MSI's 9800 pro. Its just a downclocked XT with less ram. Using catalyst drivers it's actually recognized as a XT by the device manager. All you need to do is increase the core and memory speeds (dont even need to flash bios). Plus I've heard that MSI's fan/heatsink is better...

    The MSI 9800 pro (128) with catalyst 4.7 (i think) will actually read as a 9800XT in device manager. (albeit one with only 128mb, but 256 is only marginally better) So all you have to do is overclock it (dont even need to flash bios) to XT levels and you have a 9800XT for less than $200...
