I'm not. I'm in the unfortunate position of choosing one over the other, being restricted by budget considerations. All the signs are pointing to gpu, but there's interference caused by recent launches -like the 3990x from AMD.
That said, I ask again: is it smarter to invest in CPU or GPU...
Thank for the reply. This is something I will be using to work on my portfolio. I mainly do 3d product visualizations (less archiv). 3ds max / Maya / v Ray. These three mainly. Wanted to go with a good GFX card to be able to look into GPU rendering. I know how rendering on the CPU goes, I know...
I've also been working on a Confabulator (light) version. Since I think without breaking 5000E or more I won't get something I would really enjoy. Might as well look to save some of that for display and other gear.
