Hi there, sorry for making another one of these threads but I used to follow the scene much more closely and havent for a while and feel like I've been left in the dust.
I need a graphics monitor (I'm a cartoonist) but I also want some gaming features if possible within my budget.
Needs...
MW was great for many reasons- but firstly was the quests and dialogue. My best memory of the game was playing all the guilds against eachother so you could be head of all 3. I was amazed they didnt do that in oblivion and still amazed in skyrim. The ADVANTAGE MW had over skyrim is dialogue...
I had no idea monitors changed over time! I always assumed that the colorimeter was designed to compensate for the light that is in the room from which its being seen (ex: northern neutral light vs south eastern morning light) and NOT because apparently the monitor doesnt really have a 100% idea...
@namelessme: AAARRRGHGHH!!! NOOO... now why did you have to go and tell me that haha. I can't wait so long for another review to be made. S-RGB mode is standard color space mode correct? What are the chances that it wasn't good? arrgh...*agonized with doubt*
@sblantipodi: Thanks again for the...
I see! that was quite edifying. I'm looking for a monitor for pro color work (comic art) and currently looking at the new NEC P242W (waiting for NCX's review). You all talking about how 2560 is old hat though is giving me pause. Admittedly also its not wide gamut, but I'm not really sure thats...
sorry I'm asking for my own edification as well-- could the ev2736w be considered a monitor that is ok for professional work as long as you have a color calibrator? admittedly I am making an assumption that if he wants to calibrate it with a colorimeter that means he wants to use it for...
That all sounds rather disappointing as someone looking to purchase their first PRO monitor. I sort of had my heart set on this one-- assuming that getting monitors brand new lineup would future proof me in some ways for a while. Now what it seems like is that I should look into older...
@namelessme
Thanks for the info namelessme, I'm suppose I'm still a little confused do the bits impact the color space, or do they impact screen flickering, or both. I'm interested in staying within the standard RGB range as I want the work view-able/consistent on both screen and in print.
