Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Memory that has gone bad on me include cheap generics, Crucial Ballistix and high end Corsair memory. I just run on stock, no overclocking or tweaking of timings. Never did my PC "die" on me. Sometimes the symptoms are very subtle, often memory will fail memtest while seeming to work just...
Over the last 10 years I would say the average lifetime of a stick of memory in my computer has been about 18 months. There is no other hardware component with a failure rate as high. I also suspect that a good amount of problems blamed on Windows or software are actually caused by bad memory.
I've had the 5870 since launch and the problem has remained the same, my computer will gray screen coming out of sleep. A few minutes in sleep seems to be ok, but a few hours or more virtually guarantees a crash. At first this was also accompanied by the strangest memory corruption errors...
I know what he's talking about!!! At my school we use "Q" as a terminal command to compile binaries that use the ultra-primitive Horstmann graphics library in the book "Big C++." It may be used for other stuff, not really sure. Anyways, to the OP, you won't be able to use "Q" by installing...
Sorry, the article I grabbed that quote from is from 2007. Got my dates mixed up. If you want to see it for yourself just google "Microsoft China source code."
"Trust" doesn't come into this at all. Foreign governements don't trust Microsoft or the US government. Did anyone read what I wrote before? Microsoft shares their source code with governments. This is a quote from a CNN article back in 2003!
"[Microsoft] began talks with Chinese security...
Microsoft makes the source code of Windows available to certain governments (China, for example), to assuage their fears over potential backdoors. This is nothing top secret, anyone could find this out after just a few seconds of googling (or binging). This is a non-story.
I get blank screen crashes (usually blue in color, sometimes black) almost every time I wake the computer from sleep mode. This is really annoying because I tend to use sleep mode a lot. I've communicated with Sapphire dozens of times over the last few weeks and they've been of no help...
I don't know if you're asking me or the OP but I took my computer apart and put it back together trying to fix this. Believe me, everything is plugged in correctly. I completely missed something important here. The OP and I have the exact same power supply, the Corsair HX520. I suspect...
Do the blank screen crashes happen after using sleep mode? If it does then it's your 5870 at fault. The longer my computer stays in sleep, the more likely it is to crash (just a blank blue screen) after coming out of it. There are other glitches that accompany it like graphical corruption and...
I thought I was the only one but I'm on 7 64 bit with a 5870 (Sapphire) and my computer does that too. The screen just suddenly goes blue. Or I get a good old fashioned blue screen caused by the ATI drivers. In my case, it seems to be caused by some kind of corruption that happens in sleep...
