The better devices will have DRAM cache in addition to SLC and so, for some use cases, dramatically out perform them.
Just being honest, the only short term failure I've had was with a current gen Samsung EVO SSD (SATA) drive. RMA was easy and I got a replacement. That might be the other...
I just stuck my finger out the windows, and yep, sure enough I've confirmed a week long study of over 10 data points that proves that global climate change has ended. I guess I need to write a magazine article so everyone will know.
I used to game some on a Quadro, but that's getting pretty old now. There are some benefits in that you usually get more memory and unlocked encoders and such, but you have to at least be on the low mid-tier or above. The ultra low end is pretty bad, and of course the high end gets very...
Consumes tons of power, costs 20+% more, delivers a good frame or two extra (if that much) in performance.
I hear that maybe Intel only made 14 of these.... which sounds about right....
Some might argue (and probably would be right) that "gaming consoles" are for games.
I think if you're going to go through the expense of having a computer system, ideally it needs to be for "more" than just gaming. IMHO.
With that said, if that means "only Linux" (for example) to you, I'm...
Also, not too long ago, same numbers == AMD (<10%).
Realize that AMD for all the "rah rah" hasn't broke 25% even on the desktop CPU space and of course much lower than that CPU overall. And even lower on overall GPU marketshare.
We choose to "lift high" who we choose to lift high.
Yeah, I just ran out of toner on my new "guarded" HP laser, yeah, it costs over $800 to populate toner. That is, it's cheaper to chunk the whole printer into the garbage and get the starter cartridges that come with a new one. HP... needs to go away (forever).
Since I date back to the age of "native ports of games to Linux", not sure we'll see that again.
I mean, the Linux community is so good at making foreign (as in, "violent" in nature) things run on it... it's amazing.
However, there are are "things" that do run natively, but not any of those...
Just remember, the "paltry" number mean that millions and millions of people world wide are using Linux. And IMHO, that's pretty good when you're up against a monopoly provider.
Think about it this way, the number of Linux users in the world is greater than many "favorite software application"...
