Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ok, I have the 1048 on order but now I need to figure out what to route and how since it looks like all my barbs are 1/4 and the eheim is 1/2...
I endeed up reversing the fan last night and it dropped my cpu max to about 52 but raised the case temp- I'll need to rework the exhaust it seems...
I don't see how the placement of the res would make a difference because its a closed loop.
I can see how the slow movement will make the water drop to ambient and then rapidly reach max heat as it hits the first block. A faster pump it sounds like would make the temps somewhere in the middle...
Ok SO CONFUSED now. Why is everyone reccomending a new pump since mine is moving water (even if slow) just fine right now? Back to thinking I need better blocks...
My local pond supply shop doesnt have any eheim or hydor pumps- can I get pretty much any 30000hr+ pump with 1/2" fittings (for my 3/8 tubing) with > 150gph?
Can you explain to me why its a flow problem eather than the heat echange problem? Doesn't all water end up being the same temperature no matter how quickly it moves in the end?
I guess my main question is why is the cpu 20 degrees hotter than the water and why is the block hot? If i was a...
The fan is blowing case air (like 2 degrees higher than ambient) through the rad. So a faster pump allows for better block-> water heat transfer? Not the ripples and such in the block itself?
I don't think is the contact with the blocks because the blocks get hot- I am assuming its the block->water heat transfer in which case new blocks are needed? Just guessing still...
Hi All,
So i took the hyped thermaltake bigwater route and I think im now regretting it.
First my temps:
Idle 2.8 P4 775 @ 3.4 - 42c
idle water- 36c
Case ~34c
Max CPU: 62c
Max Case: 36c
Max Water: 43c
Also , after running WoW for a while, one of the monitors gets super fragmented...
