Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ahhh, thanks, interesting that your MeTube isn't on your main computer.
When you say "I don't have anything logged into it and I never get cookie errors", what exactly does that mean?
I've been using the "Docker Desktop" outlined in Post #4. When it works, it works wonderfully, but about half the time I get a cookies error message and it doesn't work. If I revisit the next day, it often works.
Is there a way to fix these constant cookies errors, or am I better off using...
Aha! :shame: That one sentence sent me on the proper quest, thanks. I found some great materials to peruse, and the light of understanding is starting to shine, lol.
Does yt-dlp have to be used in conjunction with Docker Desktop, or is yt-dlp a standalone program?
Many thanks
Thanks, I appreciate the effort. I don't have a clue what "yt-dlp" is, or where it is, or how it should be used, or anything. So I'm lost right from the get-go..............
I use Firefox, and I do see an 'add-on' mentioned called cookies.txt, would that solve my problem?
That FAQ starts right off by saying "Passing Cookies", and I'm lost already. I don't even know what that term means, or how to do it. They talk about an "extractor", and again I'm lost. It talks about "exporting cookies", and yep, lost again.
When you say: "I extracted mine to a txt file and...
This is helpful, but I just don't understand cookies. Is there any chance you could point to me to BASIC explanation, or maybe just write out a couple of sentences as to what is going on with these cookies?
Also, the poster above (post #29) mentions his youtube channel got banned, and I have...
Thanks. I am actually getting the Docker program to work, about half the time. But it is often giving me an error message, and referencing cookies. I do not understand cookies very well. Can you kindly explain your sentence, "Extract your session cookies first, if you have an error stating you...
I am using Firefox. There is an add-on available called "cookies.txt". If I install that add-on, is there anything else I would have to do?
EDIT: or is there a Cookies setting in Firefox itself that may be causing me the error messages?
I used the Docker today, and it worked for one test...
I'm not a guru like many of you guys. Why don't you like Dockers on Windows?
I do actually have an old office computer, with Windows 7. Could I reformat that SSD and then install Linux? I wouldn't mind trying Linux.
Thanks
I have not been able to get it to work since the first time. I keep getting error messages like this shown below here.]
I deleted the container and started over a couple of times, but no luck.
Any idea what's wrong? Maybe this container log has a clue? Thanks
Oh my goodness, this actually worked! I am in shock. Your writeup and instructions were absolutely perfect. Nice job!
I owe you a beer. Heck, I owe you a case of beer. I can't thank you enough............... 👏
In the future, do I need to start the Docker each time? Or do I just go to the web...
I've tried numerous sites like those in the past 6 months, with little luck. Plus, most of them have restrictions of all kinds (max 20 mins length, max number of conversions, etc), and many of them are blocked by my VPN as 'suspicious'.
For a lot of years, I used a simple Firefox 'Add-On' that...
Thanks, I downloaded this one and installed it. What's the trick to getting it to work?
It looks like it should be fairly simple for what I want.... I'm missing something.
Many thanks!
