Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
That seems to be the underlying issue, ultimately. The drive to push content faster taking precedent over quality. YouTube is a little weird in that regard. There are a lot of channels that do very high quality work doing intensive reviews, think GN, or Project Farm or even Vacuum Wars. Lot of...
I mean their ultimate agenda is protecting their brand. That's not a secret. It's not just the hot take from the lab, yes, that probably lit the fuse...but even Linus's response on the WAN vid (which is buried 2 1/2 hours deep in a stream) is a long winded "we think we can do it better". Which...
Oh I mean it's something but the real $$$ particularly with LTT is sponsorships and branded stuff. The sub totals are just a small part of the long term story.
I mean this place is a prime example of what LTT didn't do. Kyle threw some pretty controversial shots back in the day...but kept the receipts to back them up. And that brought a lot of us onto the site over the years because the bravado was backed up by evidence and a respected testing/data...
I don't think that's the case at all. Perhaps a beneficial side effect, but they didn't fire the first shot here.
LTT is a "media" company. They do a wide variety of tech stuff typically more entertainment focused than informative. I was never a regular follower but semi-regular. I found parts...
Eh. There's people who like to work on their own cars and aren't fans of repair shops. As someone who doesn't really like working on their own car, I'm inclined to ask those people if there are shops they like because knowing they're going to scrutinize usually means their thumbs up is a sign of...
I mean you're not wrong to a degree but this is also the world Linus plays in. His image and brand is the value. It's not like LTT products are superior to other products, or he's got some tech IP worth anything. His testing methodology is obviously flawed. There's nothing there other than...
The overall scenario is common to many small companies that finds success and tries to grow exponentially. All the resources go into growth and brand capitalization and nothing goes into corporate structure or refining the workplace culture. I don't think Linus is a "bad guy" any more than the...
Devil's advocate....but you've got a very nice 4k panel. At 4K your CPU isn't going to be nearly as much of a bottleneck as it would be at lower resolutions. You could probably go high end last gen, 6900XT, 3080/Ti/90/Ti and things would be acceptable then work on upgrading the rest of your system.
I took the reference backplate off, but from what I've seen repasting is not only a PITA but not huge improvements. My temps on the 6800XT BE haven't really been an issue, though, with some aggressive fan curves.
I have a huge undervolt, I actually didn't save my exact settings from my best run, but it was @ 1050mV or so. Playing with voltage is the where most dividends came from. My card can hit 2.8ghz but will thermal throtlle, but it'll run 2.5-2.6ghz no problem on a full benchmark without thermal...
I upped power just a bit on my 6800XT to get the 22k score. 298 watts @ max draw. It's an AMD reference black edition card, and while the fans are....not quiet....at those settings the temps are within reason. I don't keep my card pegged at that extreme OC, but I'll game all day with a pretty...
Ran again because I didn't take a snip of the graph.....and got a higher score....average clock 2,542 MHz. Not sure if I just hit the silicon lottery here or not....this is a 100% stock reference card, reference cooler. Only mod is removing the backplate.
