here is an update, i got the motherboard replaced, and it detected the realtek sound hardware on the very first boot, so problem was indeed with hardware. when i took the motherboard to service center i left the processor in, when they took the processor out there appeared to be few bent pins at...
i know xiter but unfortunately the ram prices are so high where i am at that i am using whatever i got my hands on, the case wont allow fans to be mounted in push position the ram heatsink is in the way. i might get two smaller fans below but thats for later.

no mate i do not see any sound device at all, neither in sound control panel nor in device manager. i am not in US, looks like ill have to send the motherboard to service center.
sorry Baer i do not understand what you mean. the audio is enabled in bios but the hardware is not detected. the soundcard is on board and not an add on card.
ive checked it in bios, the audio is enabled. i dont think there are any jumpers to enable or disable audio.
and how do i manually install drivers when there is no hardware detected in the device driver ? however i did install the realtek drivers both from the mobo dvd and from asus site, also...

i just received this monitor from a reseller. and it behaved like this out of the box. I've been told that Hipro is the oem manufacturer for adapters for lenovo.
