Using Cyber Power's PowerPanel to shutdown vSphere Cluster

You would think so, but as of right now I am not sure where I would get it to run a script. I was hopping I would not need a separate client computer to run Windows or even Linux to run the scripts - but it is not a deal breaker. As of right now with the PowerPanel I do not see a place upload or...

Laptop on a domain - VPN Options?

This only works when the profile is already created on the computer. And at some point the credentials will go stale/ expire or the trust relationship will be lost. That aside - does anyone have any advice on VPN clients? I want to maximize throughput for file transfers mainly.

Laptop on a domain - VPN Options?

I just purchased a Dell M4800 for myself. I want to use my domain profile as it will replace my desktop at work. When I take it home, how can I effectively use my domain credentials/ remain on the network while traveling? I have a RV325 at my work location which is remote to the Hub office...

Using Cyber Power's PowerPanel to shutdown vSphere Cluster

I bought a OL3000RTXL2U and an expansion battery to be a UPS for my switches, storage box, and four ESXi hosts after being told PowerPanel can be configured to work with ESXi as an appliance. I have installed their OVF template/ CentOS VM to run PowerPanel however it looks like one instance...

    Mobil workstation set up opinions

I just custom ordered a Dell M4800 with an E-Port docking station. Back in the day I recall Lattitudes having docking stations along with a raised platform or pedestal for the monitor. I have two 25" WIDE monitors (LG 25UM64: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005626 )...

    VPN router/ appliance question

Won't the MTU be restricted by the ISPs I am using? I assumed best practice would be to limit it to 1500 as I do not have control over the gateway and any hops in between.

    VPN router/ appliance question

It depends on the file type. It starts at around 100Kb, will spike to 250ish then it will slowly go up to 500Kb (just tested it). I have never seen it go that high but we did just upgrade our pipe here to 40x40 from 20x20. That is pretty agreeable for SMB over a VPN. BUT our citrix sessions...

nas4free iscsi question regaurding target/ portals

I am definitely using the exact same configuration down to the hardware. Now the IP addresses on the hosts are different though. I wanted to give each hosts it's own dedicated route but it is in the same target group and portal. I assumed this would not be an issues though because they are just...

    vSphere and iscsi questions

I am referencing my post here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1041496700&posted=1#post1041496700 So I can only share the LUN with one machine? There is very limited performance with NFS + NAS4FREE with ESXI. This is a bummer. Is this not the way enterprises set up (iSCSI...

    VPN router/ appliance question

I have a remote office that has a 40x40 fiber connection provided by Level3/ TW Telecom. My other three offices have a privately managed VPN while one office has another circuit, 20x20. All the offices there use that circuity for internet. Internet access is very limited for all the employees...

nas4free iscsi question regaurding target/ portals

I have a SSD and a SAS pool setup on nas4free to give me a cheap storage solution for vsphere 5.5. I have ZFS volumes in both pools and configured as targets in the ISCSI setup. I have four hosts - when I connect the datastore to one, the other hosts will not mount it. They see the device...

Sandisk Micro SD 128GB - Format issue can't see data

I just used EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard as I don't have access to a USB drive that I can load a live OS on right now. Once again, EaseUS worked like a charm. I was thinking the partition tables would be completely gone and I would be SOL. Then again, maybe it can see data from old partitions? I...
