Interesting. Just to clarify, I'd be using an external DAC, my soundcard is an HT Omega Claro+ (which is just outputting through an optical cable), and I'm using a 2 channel setup. And I am only looking for BD/DVD playback. Don't have any real interest in streaming services or SACDs. And...

I'd be using it exclusively for BDs and DVDs... for DVDs, I'm currently using an Oppo 981HD. Streaming isn't even on the radar for me. And I would indeed be using this over HDMI, just to clarify.
