4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

Have a quick update. First CPU I tried, booted at 1.25v into Windows. A little tweak and was stable in aida64 and 3d mark for an hour or so. Temps where around 80c. Using an enermax 240 aio so temps could get a lot better. If I can get it to 4.7-8 and 90c I'll buy it. Testing another one...

4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

No. We don't re-sell them. We get units from suppliers that are used for display systems/marketing and sales training etc. Boss would destroy me if I opened and played with store stock! :D

4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

Just a quick update. I have the luxury of working at a computer store in Australia and I'm going to be opening some 4770k's today with a friend and see if they OC well. Who needs lottery when you can cheat? :p , I'll use a Asus z87 Pro and H100, too. I'll report back if I find any good ones...

4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

I guess IB-E may be the best upgrade path after all. Have to just wait it out for now.

4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

That's what all my google research has been telling me, too. Hopefully when the retail CPU's get tested by [H], we see better results compared to his loaned CPU. I have a 4770K sitting next to me at work wanting me to buy it! It's tempting just to get my tinker on. :(

4770K and CPU bound games. E.G: Planetside 2/ARMAIII

Alright so I was waiting for Haswell to drop so I could upgrade my 2600K @ 4.8Ghz to a 4770K to help out with CPU bound games. Planetside 2 and ARMA type games as an example. Now with the drop of Haswell and the (so far) terrible overclocks, I'm feeling worried with the chance of bad silicon...

Has ANYONE gotten a good XFX 7970?

My two are good, except the cooling solution is terrible and too hot to OC any higher than 1150mhz. The VRMs would push 110c+. Change for the Arctic Coolers and they are as good as gold!

    Asus 670 vs. Asus 7970

670 if you want fantastic 1080p out of the box experience with little to no tweaks needed. 7970 if you want to tweak/overclock and achieve higher frame rates and possibly more AA. Either way, you'll be happy with either purchase. Just as a side note, If you're not experienced in...

    My 7970 Gets hot :(

Make sure to check on your VRM temps if you're reaching 80c+.

    AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta 4

Had to revert to 13.1. 13.2 gave me lighting flicker in Chivalry. :(

Requesting a crossfire review with Radeon Pro vs sli solution

Oh man.. I've used both setups for so long (680sli/7970cf) and I can't tell a bloody difference, they both rock! Only that one setup costs more :p My useless comment, but hey, sue me! :)

7970 CFX vs GTX 670 SLI

7970's for me, no tearing here! User problems, user problems everywhere! :P But seriously, 670's if you cbf with tweaking and prefer an out of the box experience. You wont get that with AMD.
