The technician called me today at noon and was at my house within 10 minutes.
He brought a new monitor of the same model, and the same revision and date manufacturing date (REVA02, Mfg: Feb 2011) which was the same as the one I bought and seems to be the latest.
The monitor was replaced...
After a few tiering days, I was finally able to contact Dell Israel technical support, and to my great surprise I was not disappointed.
Dell's representative told me that a tech will call me next week to coordinate his time of arrival at my house.
He also said that he'll come with the same...
What that'll happen is that, after hearing my complaints, Dell will want to take the monitor to their lab to test it, and since there is nothing wrong with it, they'll say that it's fine, and i'll end up wasting my time and with a monitor for a couple of days.
While there is a very, very slim...
You are talking about the full refund policy that Dell offers, that is only in the US however (and even Canada I believe) but no one gives a crap about Israel, surely not "Dell Israel".
While I can't say that the U2311H isn't great in terms of quality picture and responsiveness (for an "entry-level" IPS monitor), because it is. If I could go back I would not have risked the chance of such a thing happening to me, as it will drive anyone crazy.
I cannot speak for 2209WA...
Short story of what happened to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HI5bazK7FE
Long story is that the screen was locked and didn't respond, while I tried to unlock it several times, it just got locked back again, and menu took about 60 seconds from the moment I clicked the button in the...
Alert: DO NOT BUY THE DELL U2311H MONITOR
I REPEAT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY THIS BRAND.
Details later, after i'll smash the screen in the Dell representative's head!
I will take you at your word about that since you seem to understand about this stuff and you do make sense, but the fact that the U2311H is so adjustable and I rearly move my head more than a few mm, it is seems less relevant (and currently doesn't seem to have any effect on me, as, even though...
Not at all it's a great monitor, I don't think you'll find one better at this price range.
The only real problem you'll be noticing is on the internet (but you will get use to it eventually as i'm sure I will), because of the high resolution and the 16:9 aspect ratio, default font can be quite...
Thanks everyone for their comments here and in the previous post. You were very helpful and got me in the right direction. and I wanted to get the 2209WA but they could only supply it to me at the end of the week, and I didn't know if my old monitor will last until then so I ended up buying the...
After almost an entire month of endless searching (getting google page to 50+) and asking around, while changing my mind a hundred times over which monitor to choose, I have reached the conclusion that getting an IPS panel will be best for me.
Take into consideration a few facts:
1. as far...
Ok, thanks all for the comments, since now the only decision is between IPS, and I have changed my mind about the monitor like 200 times over the last month, and many different monitors were discussed here, I would like to open a new topic with the proper title comparing the two IPS.
I know...
Even though I don't tend to play much FPS games, I would like to keep that option open as I intend for this monitor to serve me for a long period of time.
I don't want or fell the need to push games over 60 FPS.
Now, correct me if i'm wrong but (for games) the only competitor to the Dell...
