    help with LSI 3801e (1068e) only seeing 1st drive on each port!?

    Sorry for digging this out of the grave (have been years since I didn't visit the forums). Had pretty much same issue, 3801ES-L (Sun branded card), updated firmware to 01.33.00.00 (22-AUG-2011) and my card would see only the 6th and 8th disk (using two sas fan out cables, no port multipliers.)...

    Went with a Noctua NH-D14. Will assemble it and check if I need a 3rd fan. baldrik, thanks for the reply. Checking from someone's else build, if I don't install a 3rd fan on the noctua I would be able to use the mPCI-e adapter (need wifi :'( )
