Problem with Seagate X10 10TB setup

OK, it seems I found it. I clicked on Disk 1 and I converted this to a GPT disk. Now it worked. Is that OK?

Problem with Seagate X10 10TB setup

Today I decided to backup two 4TB HDDs I have onto a new Seagate X10 10TB I had bought some time ago. There seems to be some interface problem in the SATA signal or power connectors, that has caused some of my HDDs to "disappear". I always check them with CrystalDiskInfo, and the HDDs always...

    New RAID server

Well, I do have my first SSD, a 256GB Crucial that I eventually use externally. Crystal shows a 92% health, but it's not specific SSD testing program, so it doesn't show life expectancy, like SSDLife shows for SSDs. Well, I could use that. Aren't there adapters that allow using m.2 boards in...

    New RAID server

Would this LSI serve my purposes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002IT4YG2/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&language=es_US&ref_=psdcmw_3015424011_t1_B008NF6TKY I know this board would allow to assemble a hardware controlled system, but maybe that's an option I would like to try in the...

    New RAID server

As I said at the beginning I will be using a PC, with Asus H61M-A MB with Intel CPU as the base for my server, with 5 x 8TB WD Red NAS HDDs assembled in RAID6. All the supply and the case I already have, was my previous computer, so it works fine. I will need to buy a PCI board with 8 SATA...

    New RAID server

So considering my hardware options, can you guide me with the rest of the hardware I need and the software, including what to use to format the HDDs. Which RAID would you recommend? Linux or Unix? Which RAID to use?

    New RAID server

Wrong SATA boards. Those have no RAID. This one does https://www.amazon.com/LSI-Logic-LSI00415-PCI-Express-Controller/dp/B00X7ZHED6/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=PCI-E+SATA+3.0+8-Port+SATA+III+raid&qid=1613503504&s=electronics&sr=1-29

    New RAID server

All HDDs bought, six of them. Took some time because of Brazilian customs. Now I would like to know where to start. I have the motherboard (Asus H61M-A/BR), Intel CPU, memory and power supply. I need to buy a case, one where I can also fit the six 8TB WDs. Will need a PCI board to plug the...

Assembling an Ethernet video & audio network

How much clear can I get? I want to assemble a LAN driven network server. I already have the assemble, the HDDs, was recommended to use RAID 6 and I need to buy some PCI boards to complete it. What network switch are you talking about? One program I was suggested was NAS.

Assembling an Ethernet video & audio network

This a question that was discussed some time ago, but I think now come with different options. The network should run Linux, with a specific PC, where boards will be added for the network. The HDDs will be five 8TB WD WD80EFAX HDDs. It was recommended to me to run it in RAID6 I will buy a...

    DVD recorder for laptop

My Asus laptop started misreading discs some time ago, so I think it's time to change it for a new one. As I think they are all the same size, is there any particular brand or model you would recommend? I've seen mostly Toshiba and HP at Newegg.

    Events in Windows 10

The problem I described, things stopping operating, only happens on the laptop, not the PC. The only AV I use is Windows Defender. on both computers. The only incompatible thing on mt PC are the games, that do not seem to work with the W10 versions I installed in the PC.
