Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have a 24 inch and the 8800 GT.
As above. UT3 plays on high settings flawlessly. As does Bioshock, Supreme Commander, and Orange box.
I have some trouble with Crysis too. But if you turn the resolution to 1920x1080 (slight decrease) and overclock the 8800 GT a little, you can eek out...
Right now, the GTX is definatly better...
But I'd reserve judgement until the DX10 games come out. I would not be suprised if the R600 takes a better swipe at running those games.
The fact that the R600 is all over the place with DX9 games makes me feel like it wasn't engineered for them...
I commend you on your craftsmanship, but I am interested in your results...
My personal theory (which I hope is backed up by my fluid dynamics classes) is that it is better to have fewer "well placed" fans, than just sheer volume or number.
You may create dead zones of airflow over...
Search a BF2 forum. You can amend the executible arguments and force the native resolution...
example:
BF2.exe +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200
Most games allow for these modifications in some form. Search for them.
Amen!
I am looking forward to the benchmarks!
I would love for people to comment on the functionality of AA, AF, tipple buffering, and Vsync, from the control panel (NOT in game settings).
Currently my 7900 in vista does not support control panel options. (i know it's not the same)
Seriously...
Perhaps a mod should close this thread, and we'll try again!
THIS THREAD IS ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DRIVERS!
I come here to get information and results, not read this crap bickering that has no point/solution to it.
Only post if you are going to give some relevant...
Personally, I don't give a F#ck about the "Vista ready" crap...
Why cant we just stick to benchmarking the drivers?
That's what we are all here for, THIS thread is about the drivers, and how they work...
There are better threads for debating something as silly as "OMG why do I have/not...
Interesting news about the driver releases...
I heard that DX9 games can benefit from the efficiencies of DX10. Does this mean that DX9 games will not benefit unless the full DX10 path (Card + Drivers + game patch) is complete?
or does the hardware improve the efficiency just by existing...
OK! This is what I've been waiting for! Having a eVGA 8800 GTS in my shopping cart for a while over at Newegg, I've been eagerly anticipating Drivers for Vista.
We need some benchmarks! Someone play some games!
Some questions I would like answered while you play said games:
Does AA/AF...
I bought this monitor from CC back on the 18th, when I received it, it had that loud buzzing noise, so I returned it, and ordered another. The new one works great, and has no buzzing noise.
I'm running Vista x86, there are no great drivers for my 7900 so I'm unsure how gaming will really...
I'm going to be the lone dissenter...
I have a 7900 GTX, and I also run at 1650x1080. All the latest games run great, obviously not as well as a GTS would do, but they run fine.
My reasoning is price and compatibility. The drivers for these DX10 parts are still very young, and DX10...
Bump,
For more rush-hour views. I'll post pics soon as well.
I hope someone is interested before I Ebay these.... I'd rather haggle over it with [H] people. I'm not looking to fool anyone.
