    Most Windows-only games work okay in WINE, with some minor tweaking. Lots of indie games (Minecraft, etc) have Linux/Ubuntu editions. Also, don't forget that Steam is available for Ubuntu now. If you don't know what Steam is, Steam is the main software for many of today's popular PC games.
