Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My two cents to this topic:
The drivers works on W Server 2016 (1607) without an issue. I'm using two Intel sas expanders, I can confirm that works with 12TB WD gold drives.
I think all these 3ware-->avago-->broadcom haven't improved much and its all based on LSI IP slight evolution +...
I'm contacting you because your tests of 9750-8i on windows server 2016. Would you mind to tell me the driver/firm version you used? Did you have any problems with the controller so far?
You made my day when I saw this topic. How is your progress, did it work properly? What issues have you had?
I have a 9750 as well, running on 2008R2 and its time to swap to 2016, because the limited support on 8th gen intel supermicro mobos. A new controller is rather expensive (and the BBU...
Hi,
has anyone tested this disk with old chipsets? I was thinking about picking up one for an old X58 platform, which has lots of pci-e lanes, but no SATAIII.
There are not many alternatives that do not include a plugin card f.e. the M6e of plextor which is confirmed boots from MS AHCI, but...
At last I have my Hitachis :P

I just wanted to post to confirm 9750SA successfully detects those 2TB drives. My problem right now is 2/9 disks I bought were DOA. So I'll have to wait some days to build a RAID-6. I'll post some numbers given that...
Very Impressive!
Given the ammount of money you spend on HDs/case PSU, why that mobo? I would go for an intel 3420 or 5500 series with integrated graphic and better pci-e lanes handling.
@tony: nice. Good to know.
@seanG: thank you. For those interested the battery module for 9750 series is:
For more information about installing the BBU

@sean: I'll pick up the battery ;) Did you had to activate TLER to let 9690/9650 detect the Hitachis or were their Ultrastar models?
Little brother HDS721010KLA330 (1TB) is listed in compatibility list of 9750.
Indeed 9750 "only" expands up to 96 drives not 128.
@theinv: my problem with...
Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade my storage server with a new raid controller. 8x2TB RAID6. The disk wont have very intensive usage but will be almost 24/7 up (off just a few days/year).
After reading, reading and reading I decided for:
- 3WARE 9750SA-8I
- Hitachi HDS722020ALA330
But I've a...
