Age old question: Nvidia or AMD?

It's been my experience that Radeon cards give more consistent framerates with less spikes and dips than Geforce cards. These more consistent framerates from Radeon cards result in smoother gameplay. That's one of the main reasons I chose 6970s in Tri-CF for my current gaming rig, and I am...

Age old question: Nvidia or AMD?

Wow! As you can see, on this hardware forum (and many others) you can't mention advantages of AMD GPUs without a bunch of insecure Nvidia fans jumping all over it. That right there tells you AMD must be doing something right with their GPUs. Otherwise, there wouldn't always be this instant...

    Exaggerate much?

Age old question: Nvidia or AMD?

AMD GPUs = Better price/performance ratio. They also have MLAA which is usable by nearly all games.

    6990 + 6970, or tri-fire 3 x 6970s? (also cooling question)

I highly suggest 6970s in Tri-Crossfire! I have a gaming rig with water cooled 6970s in Tri-Crossfire and it's monstrously powerful and absolutely awesome! Water cooling is the way to go!

    Second 6870 or 570

These days, microstutter is really not noticeable in either AMD or Nvidia multi-GPU setups. It's just a load of b.s.

    Second 6870 or 570

AMD 6000 series cards scale better than Nvidia 500 series cards in multi-GPU setups. Therefore, the 6000 series are a better value with multi-GPU setups, especially considering the fact that you already have a 6870. In fact, the AMD 6000 series cards are just a better value in general...

    AMD Vs. NVIDIA Cards

I am not trolling. How many people on this forum even have a 6970 Tri-CF setup? Probably very few if any. I actually have a 6970 Tri-CF setup and I can tell you it is ridiculously powerful and very reliable! And the newest Catalyst drivers are great! 6970 Tri-CF is about the same...

Are NVIDIA Drivers Still Better than AMD?

Nvidia drivers are NOT better than AMD drivers or vice versa. Both drivers are equally good these days. However, AMD GPUs offer a much better price/performance ratio. Nvidia GPUs are overpriced.

    6990 CrossfireX or Tri-SLI 3GB 580s

It's not just scaling. Because of their complexity, Quad-GPU setups are apparently more problematic in games as well. Tri-GPU setups are a safer bet.

    6990 CrossfireX or Tri-SLI 3GB 580s

This is absolutely UNTRUE!! Please do not make stuff up. This graph from tomshardware.com clearly shows that AMD Tri-Crossfire has LESS microstutter than Nvidia Dual-SLI (look at the orange and green bars): For some reason, it seems that Nvidia Tri-SLI was not benchmarked in this...

    6990 CrossfireX or Tri-SLI 3GB 580s

Read this article from May, 2011: http://hardocp.com/article/2011/05/19/quadgpu_performance_review_nvidia_vs_amd/8 Especially, read the first paragraph under the heading "Performance Summary" and the last paragraph under the heading "The Bottom Line". I think one can logically conclude...

    6990 CrossfireX or Tri-SLI 3GB 580s

From what I have read, because of their complexity, Quad-GPU setups are known to have issues with games and are not recommended. Currently, high-end Tri-GPU setups provide the best performance. In particular, 6970s in Tri-Crossfire is the best price/performance high-end GPU setup at the...

    AMD Vs. NVIDIA Cards

IMO, the AMD 6970s are the best graphics cards currently available. I prefer the 6970s over any current Nvidia graphics cards. IMO, the 6970s are simply superior and provide better and smoother real-world gameplay performance, especially in multi-GPU setups.

AMD 6000 series vs. Nvidia 500 series: Which do you prefer any why?

It has been my experience that AMD 6000 series cards have less issues in games and provide a smoother gameplay experience than Nvidia 500 series cards. I have noticed that this is especially true in multi-GPU configurations. Also, I think AMD's MLAA is an awesome feature and is far more...
