with that $95 - MSI Z87-G41 PC MATE Intel Z87 ATX Motherboard, would I have the option to upgrade to SLi down the road if I wanted to? I want to keep that option open, as sometimes it is cheaper to upgrade to a second card than to buy a really expensive, nice card..
Is that true or am I...
I was hoping to get a gtx670. Is that motherboard compatible with it?
I definitely want the option to be able to upgrade easily down the road in say 3-5 years or so (different cpu/ gpu's)
I like the CPU though :-) I was thinking the i5 4670K would be sweet
I built my first computer about 5 years ago, and haven't really been in the scene since.. I am looking to help a friend build a computer that will run well with battlefield 4. I'm thinking an i5 with a GTX670 and a 23" monitor, maybe 8 gigs of ram if posssible.. I have a 1 year old kid and...
Thank you very much!
I ordered CM Hyper 212 plus just yesterday.
My main concern is that it won't get here till the 13th-16th.
I want to be able to play games until then without worrying about my i5 getting too hot (90c!)
Think my best bet would just be to clean off the old paste and...
Hey everyone,
I have been having problems with heat and my i5 750.
It is clocked with stock speeds and the stock heat-sink and fan.
I bought some thermal grease, but I'm not sure it is the right stuff..
I attached a picture below.
my current situation is that I idle at about 45-50 and...
Ok, I just got my Brand new EVGA GTX 460 card. This card is EXACTLY the same model and everything as my "broken" card.
I installed it with all of the EXACT settings from when I first built the computer.
Running the latest drivers from Nvidia.
This card is running great!
All games run...
I downloaded and installed EVGA Precision.
It says my GPU temp is 45-50c idle.. that seems hot.. is that normal?
I also down clocked my core GPU and shader from (675 and 1350) to (550 and 1100) and can now run youtube and avi files..
So I adjusted my RAM timings manually, set them to 133mhz instead of 160mhz. and set my timings to 9-9-9-31.
I have it running very stable surfing the web and listening to internet radio.
As soon as I try to start up an application like youtube, a game, etc, it freezes.
Weird thing is, when...
well I just adjusted the timings on my ram to 8-8-8-24.
I also adjusted it to be set at 1333mhz.
I am running a memtest right now, and it made it all the way through the test with 0 errors on the first pass of all the tests. I will let it run 2 -3 more passes to see if it yields anything, but...
I just ordered a new gtx 460 (for sli purposes) and to test if my card is defective.
it should get here tuesday
I am going to try re-running memtest tonight to see if it freezes again
would I be foolish if I purchased another GTX 460 card this morning?
I have pretty much figured that it is the video card, and I would rather order a new one and have it get here by wednesday than RMA the card and wait 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. I will hold on to my old card until the new one gets here...
