Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The computer is now up and running fine--so it seems. It appears some people are experiencing many problems with this chipset and SATA drives, especially when attempting to use RAID. Mine is now up and running with the SATA controller set to IDE, I was not attempting to use RAID, I had set it on...
Has anyone experienced problems with the SATA controllers on this mobo? I have had hard drives disappear between boot ups. Strangely they would reappear on one or another boot attempts and work fine. I tried switching cables and ensuring they were connected securely, used new cables, changed...
If you still need one in the near future, I have an A8R32-MVP deluxe I can sell you as soon as I get my new stuff. One issue would be the ram--4 1gb dimms drops the ram speed from 400 to 333. Otherwise it works perfect and is loaded.
I was just curious. There was no mention in any literature I have read regarding if it mattered whether the card was an x1 or x4....or if it only applied to x16 video cards. There are x1 RAID cards available, gb lan cards, SATA add in cards, sound cards, and some others like expresscard...
I have a question about this board and the 790fx chipset. We know that it supports 2 x16 cards or 1 x16 and 2 x8, or 4 x8. My question is when I have 2 x16 video cards installed and I want to plug in a pcix1 card into one of the x16 slots will that also affect the speed of the other slots...
Image your drive if you have software to do so ( in case it is the drive failing), and have boot media to run it. Disable the auto reboot after crash and check the stop code at the top of the blue screen. Post it here for someone to check--or type it into Google.
Vista Ultimate includes both x32 and x64 disks. The other versions of Vista are 32 bit; you have to get a 64 bit disk from MS for the price of shipping. The only drawback for the OEM versions is it can only be installed on one computer-no changing the mobo and reinstalling. It is the same as...
Most laptops have this option, but I believe it is an image of the drive after the OS is installed, the same as you get from the recovery partition. It is not a "Vista" Disk.
I just read a review today that compared a mix and match setup with 3870/3850 combos with 256mb to 1024mb memory. Since the OP has the 790fx chipset he is running CFx which I believe I read can utilize the mixed cards. The review stated the best performance for $ combo was this dudes setup...
I see that evga has a 169.32 driver listed. Latest beta at nVidia is 169.28. Are these the same? Will I be able to use the evga driver with my BFG card? Do they have some special enhancements for the evga card?
This is precisely where I am sitting--12x10 res max for my monitor. Buy the card that functions best at the res your monitor runs at(LCD). Beyond 16x12 you would probably be better served with dual cards.
I have 8800GTS 512, upgraded from x1800xt. Could have gone with 3850's in CF but the...
