Transitioning from windows to Mac OS X
As far as what you can do with UNIX? Really depends on what you want to do with it. Try setting up parallels, virtual box, or vm ware and installing freebsd so you don't do anything to you mac. You can play around with UNIX that way. It can be an ftp or dhcp server, firewall, QoS implementation...- bryanwii
