AMD 6970/6950 CFX and NVIDIA 580/570 SLI Review @ [H]

I used to love such articles from Hardocp but they're becoming increasingly useless to me. I just clicked away when I was the testing was being done on 3 monitors. How many gamers, even ones that own high-end multi-GPU configs, game on 3 monitors? I have no problems with testing at ultra-high...

My thoughts on 480gtx vs my 280gtx sli

Yeah, thats what I've been hearing alot about the 480s. The performance is just very consistent regardless of the amount of activity in a game. I can't say the same about my 5870s.

Which Card GTX 480 or ATI 5970?

After reading a lot of impressions, I'd have to say definitely 480. Regardless of the $200 difference, the 480 simply provides more consistent framerates at 1920x1200 or higher. While the 5970 usually wins out on avg.framerate, it's simply not as solid with regards to minimum framerates.

Which Card GTX 480 or ATI 5970?

From what I've been reading in forums, the 480 seems to be less prone to big drops in framerate than the 5870.

    eVGA SLI GTX 480

Based on the benchmarking I've done on JC2 with both Nvidia and AMD cards, I'm pretty sure SLI is just not working on Just Cause 2 at the moment.

Just upgraded to a new 5 GPU rig

The point that I'm making with this thread is that more GPU power was a better upgrade for me than a CPU/MOBO upgrade. All my framerates have increased along with substantially improved image quality. I typically ran games with 4xAA + Multisampling Transparency AA. Now I use 8x or 16x AA +...

Just upgraded to a new 5 GPU rig

This is the PSU I'm using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171022 I was skeptical that it would run all 5 GPUs but I've had 0 problems with power so far. I've left benchmarks running for more than 10 hrs and they've never crashed.

Just upgraded to a new 5 GPU rig

Nah, I've never done any folding. I'm not sure if you guys want to see my RIG. The cables are a mess since I'm just using an Antec mid tower. I just stuff everything inside and close the case. Here are some pics of what it looks like in the OS. As you can see, it is possible to use...

Just upgraded to a new 5 GPU rig

I recently upgraded my 280 GTX sli setup to two 295 GTXs. I also got a Creative X-Fi Titanium PCI-express soundcard so that my middle PCI-express slot is free. With the free middle slot, I used a 8800 GTX as a Physx accelerator. The rest of my specs are: Q6600 at 3.2, 6gb DDR2 800 on a...

2GPU in Crossfire/SLI plus 3rd GPU for PhysX

Tried it, it didn't work. I'm surprised no websites have tried this at all. If a 8800GT can work with a Crossfire setup, then Nvidia just lost a major advantage.

2GPU in Crossfire/SLI plus 3rd GPU for PhysX

So no one has ever tried this? :( I thought this was the most hardcore PC gaming forum.

2GPU in Crossfire/SLI plus 3rd GPU for PhysX

Has anyone gotten this to work? I've been experimenting with two GTXes and one 8800GTX but SLI gets disabled whenever all 3 cards are installed. The OS recognizes all 3 cards and PhysX even lets me select which of the 3 I want to use for PPU. The problem is that SLI is automatically disabled...

    Newer games and Quad-Cores

Yeah, I want to see some real world differences and not just benchmarks. Obviously, the dual-cores perform about the same as similarly clocked quad-cores in benchmarks but some gamers claim that new games like MOH:Airborne and Assassin's Creed run more smoothly with quad-core. Unfortunately, I...

    Newer games and Quad-Cores

I'm currently using a e6700 (overclocked to 3.4ghz), and 2 X 8800 GTX. While my framerates in most games are very high, I notice that some of them feel a bit jittery. I'm curious if upgrading to a quad-core would make those games feel smoother. Doing some research with google, I've seen...

    Case recommendation

I was interested in buying a custom built water cooling case but it seems that it's pretty hard to find one. I just might have to install one myself. I'm not interested in cutting or any type of modding to my case though. What is the best case which I can use to mount a radiator externally...
