I did find out (by reading anothe post) how to stress all 4 cores and got some new numbers and they average around 78c*. I will be looking into the artic freez HS.
Thanks again,
Bruce.
It's working! The last changes you suggested did the trick. To answer your question of when the multiplier changed, it was after initial boot-up into os (vista)
Temps are noted below after running orthos for about 15 mins.
Tjunction: 100c*
Core # 0: 75c*
Core # 1: 73c*
Core # 2: 75c*...
I really appreciate the help but it's still droping the multiplier to 6 after disabling CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) and I don't have a clue what to do with this.
After making the recomended changes, the temps are up about 2* . I did double check the specs for my mem sticks and they are 2.2 volts as they are set (+ 0.4)
Thanks for the quick responce. Coretemp is:
T junction: 100*
Core # 0: 58*
Core # 1: 58*
Core # 2: 54*
Core # 3: 58*
If this is not normal should I scrape off the grey thermal past that came with the stock HS and reaply new?
Thanks for the link. I set all the settings as shown and set the memory according to my mem specs but now I noticed that when I bring up CPU-Z the multiplier changes back and forth from 9 to 6. Is this normal. Yes, I'm new at this.
Thanks,
Bruce.
