    As the title says, I'm looking for an extension like this. It can be for Firefox, Chrome or Opera. I know there are some other programs for this, but I would prefer a browser extension.

    I must correct myself. Audacity does support recording "what you hear" through WASAPI loopback mode, which is available in the newer versions. (Previously you had to use "Stereo mix".) So it seems like it works with every audio device without installing anything. It's still a bit limited...

    Yes, but, like similar audio editors, it can only record from regular audio inputs.

    Usually the solutions for recording what you hear involve either getting the Stereo Mix as a recording device (not all soundcards/drivers have that) or installing some "virtual audio cable" driver. Pretty much 99% of posts online will suggest something like that. But apparently none of this...
