Well, I'm not an expert, but I would think that if left on the board too long, the water will dissolve any solutes that are present on the board, which would make the water conductive and short out the board. You're right that condensation is distilled, but it will dissolve any solutes present...
Yeah, the warning is only for those tho take the top off their block, mostly to tweak it with the thicker o-ring. If you do take the top off of the block, then you need to make sure the pins are running in the right direction. Otherwise you're okay.
Nice setup, I have the same kit but my pump didn't work and I'm waiting for a new one. I was thinking of having the exhaust fan before the radbox like that in the back, but I was afraid it would increase the temps since hot air was being forced into the rad. Have you tried it without and does...
I've heard that the Liquid XP isn't very good for your system, but I don't have any personal experience with it. Everything else looks good, although depending on your mobo is it really necessary to cool the chipset? If you're looking to overclock the kentsfield you might want to eliminate that...
This is my first water cooling rig, it's a work in progress that should have been done already. It would have too if it weren't for the defective pump that I got. Now I have to wait for an RMA and then ship my pump back before they ship me a new one.
Filling the system:
Draining the...
Thanks for everyone who tried to help, I was able to get the clamps off by using a claw hammer to slide apart the fingers sideways, and I was able to drain the system. I took the top off of the pump and tried turning it on. I was able to get the pump to run by manually spinning the impeller...
Just an update on my situation: I got the pump out of the case by ripping apart the neoprene pad, then peeling the remaining chuck out of my case. I still need help getting the hose clamps off, I'd rather not cut them but if it's my only option I might have to ask Swiftech to throw in two more...
Sounds like a great idea, but it's stuck inside my case. Should I try tapping it with a hammer or something to unfreeze it? I'm not sure if it will dislodge it the way hitting the pump agianst something would.
The clamps are black plastic clamps, they snap together as I close them and they have two "fingers" on each side. I tried prying up the top "finger" but since there were three more "fingers" locking together that didn't work. I also tried sliding them apart sideways with a wrench but I...
First off, I bought a swiftech H2O-120 kit from Newegg. The pump is an MCP350. I hooked everything up, added fluid, jumped the PSU and flipped the switch. Nothing happened. I called swiftech and they said I will have to RMA the pump, but it seemed like the guy I talked to was ready to leave...
