    Sounds like memory to me as well. My problem with my vpu crashes had to do with HT getting to high. You should try to losen up your memory timmings to see if you can higher. I don't have the same MB but the same chipset. I booted just fine into my AV8 @ 250x10 using 2.5,3,3,8,11 mem timmings...

    got this for ya.... I had the same problem.... its your HT ratio... turn it down from 5 to 4. If you don't see this option then you need to get the updated bios from Abit flash your mb. This should solve your vpu issues

    High FSB and 9800 = vpu crash???

    never mind.... I figured it out!!! I should have tried this earlier. The AV8 HT bus speed and the 9800 pro don't get along at speeds over 1200mhz (2400). Dropping the HT multiplier from 5 to 4 solved the problem.
