If reviews on the 12 core look good, it will very likely replace my 5820k. Will be interesting to see how it does heat wise with a much smaller heatspreader than threadripper.

No, especially since this is a free to play game.

The comparison to the TV market isn't really practical since the volume and consumer base for TVs vs. gaming monitors is so different. Now if more TVs start supporting higher framerates, suddenly those two product segment will have much larger overlap.
