Thermaltake Core X9 - SLI GPU overheating - Fan layout?

I have the Thermaltake Core X9 with an i7 6700k at stock under a Corsair H115i and SLI EVGA 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+. When playing some more intensive games the first GPU reaches > 90c and the fans go crazy to keep the temp down. My current fan layout is as follows: Front: 2 x 200mm Intake Top: 2...

No in the current firmware it doesn't work anymore. It sort of works but you get noise or artifacts all over the panel.

Yeah it's been confirmed to only add YouView. I've not updated in case it breaks something else.

    Do you Regret buying a 4K ?

I have no regrets going 4K (43" TV). It's probably the most noticeable upgrade I've ever done. And that includes when I upgraded from AMD Athlon XP 3200 with 6800GT to i7 920 with Nvidia 285. I'm now running with a single 980ti and for me that's perfectly adequate. I find a single 980ti @ 4K...

@aadik 3840x1620 works fine. Not sure how I missed the scaling option. You have to select the option to override scaling set by games as well for it to work. But once set games work fine. Looks good but I personally much prefer full 4K. Better FPS though so a good option if you find 4K too...

And @aadik the colours are definitely a lot better on the Sony than my HP LP2475W. I've not tried to hardware calibrate the TV yet though. I don't do photo editing anymore so I'm happy as long as I think it looks good.

I tried 3840x1620 but the TV just scales it to fullscreen. Nvidia seems to have removed the option to force letterbox.

    The 2015 Sony TV Thread

At the moment I can sit 2.5 feet/75cm away from the screen. It feels pretty spot on. It's just before I have to start turning my head to see the corners. I think any bigger than 43" at least at this distance would start to feel too big. For certain games it might work just as well and be...

Sure. I'll report this to Sony as well. Hopefully later firmwares will sort the artifacts. Yeah to be honest I really like the glossy screen. It makes the colours really stand out. My previous monitor had a matt screen and I like this one a lot better. I used it pretty much the whole evening...

Done some testing now. No matter what I try I can't get rid of the artifacts when using 1080p@120hz. Tried switching off the enhanced HDMI signal to step down to 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 but makes no difference. This is what makes me think it's a firmware issue.

Sure will try that for you. It doesn't actually make much difference in games apart from on text.

Good luck both of you with your searches. Hopefully 2016 will bring new models with less compromises.

Quick update. I did a factory reset of the TV and now 1080p@120hz@4:4:4 works again. Like hannibl though I get some artifacts. Like short white lines that appear and disappear very quickly along the middle of the screen. It must be a firmware issue though as I didn't have the artifacts before...

I'm still very happy with mine. I was never really interested in 1080p@120 so not a big deal for me. As a 4K though it's great. Not found anything I don't like to be honest now when the firmware is fixed. Think I'll be keeping this one for a long time.
