@AndrewZorn What I had with some graphic cards/monitor combination is that when Windows is set to turn the display off after a certain period of time, the monitor does not come back normally. Either it stay off, or it is set to a wrong resolution. Maybe you should try to play with Windows...

    Dell U2711

@Sephrioth Hi ;-) I downloaded and zoomed/streched. I also applied high contrast on these pictures, so the heterogeneity is enhanced. Honestly, it's difficult to give an advice on the stripes. Usually, IPS panels looks "dirtier" than PVA ones (like the 2407), especially if wide-gammut.

Hello all, Does anybody knows if an A01 rev of the u2711 could be released soon ? Thanx.

@Sephrioth: Just to be sure to understand the relation between your "Extreme Contrast" picture and what you actually perceive on the screen: - on the "extreme contrast" picture, there is for example a quite darker tiny small zone along the right side/border of the panel, just in the middle of...

@iaTa IMHO, the more light you have in the room, the less you notice the AG coating. A dark room is where the coating will be the more visible. However, I use my u2711 in a quite dark room and I love it... ;-) I find the u2711 coating far less annoying in a dark room than the u2410 one...

@Sephrioth Just curious: How did you take the second picture and what color/brightness/contrast settings did you used ? Also, do you know the RGB value of the grey you display there ? Btw, I believe it's normal for any LCD display to show some kind of heterogeneity in...

    Dell U2410

Some update on my u2410 A00 exchange. I complained here about the u2410 and Dell/LG, so I feel I've to give them justice by telling also the good things: eventually, Dell agreed to exchange the monitor. I received a new u2410 A01 less than 24 hours later. I'm quite happy with it since now...

Quoting Panzaman: >> LG just can't manufacture a screen which looks completely white! << At least for this IPS panel, from what I've read and based on my own experience, I have sadly to agree with you so far... We had the same problem a few years ago with the HP LP2475w, that used...

    Dell U2410

Hi to all, My experience: I bought recently an u2410. In "standard" color mode, I noticed a (mild) tinting across the screen: slightly greenish on the left, slighlty pinkish on the right. Only visible on white/grey tones. As I'm quite picky, I asked for a replacement. It was even...

    Dell U2711

Well that's interesting... By the way, the color/brightness heterogeneity your (-ex) 2711 shows in the picture you posted does not look so bad to me either. Of course, it's difficult to give an advice based on a .jpg on a forum, but if you check the picture in this review...

    Dell U2410

Obviously, the intensity of the tint issue is very variable from one unit to another. For me, using the "Cool" color mode "solved" it (using sRGB did not helped). The gradient is no longer noticable (of course in my case it was only a slight one). I know it's not ideal, but maybe a proper...

    Dell U2410

As I posted on the Dell forum: Just got a U2410 and, using the factory default, it has indeed a slight color uniformity gradient : greenish on the left bottom -> redish on the upper right (I've to say I'm quite picky about lcd display). Slight but noticable on a full white or grey screen...
