I did hear the 13 black overheated too....Not sure about why. Once I had used the 12 black and verified it's stability I bought like 6 of em for my ski crew. The 12's are very nice cameras, not one of us had a problem. We are still using them. -...

We will soon find out. The overheating issues were in the Hero 10 and 11 models ( I owned both ) They fixed the overheating issue in the 12 black, primarily by removing the GPS.

I have used GoPro's since they came out, they are a long way from dead. I ,for one, am glad they did not get into the drone crap and just do cameras. The new camera is the Mission 1 Pro. Just bought one . ------ Very impressive little camera ...
