Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm running a very similar setup to what you're planning. For the CPU I'm running a E3-1225v2 with a CM 212 cooler. With 16 drives spinning the CPU is idling around 55 *C and starts throttling under heavy plex load (more than 1 video being transcoded) as it's hitting upper the upper 90s.

I built my system with a 4220 but it's close enough.
First thing to do is watch out for sharp edges
Second: Take out the center fan wall to be able to connect to the backplanes.
Third: Pull out every single back plane and look at them. My particular case came with a backplane...
Thanks for pointing that out. Tested the 4 Hdds that I had originally in the case when the other 4 caught fire and lo and behold all four of these are dead now too. They spin up, but apparently nothing else. Swapped in the 4 replacements that WD sent me and they show up without a problem...
I had just the forward cable attached.....later tried just the reverse out of desperation. I connected the first 2 connectors from the forward cable to the drives and the forward cable directly into the raid controller.
It didn't see the drives at all, even when telling it to rescan.
Edit...
I'm confused.....
I removed 2 disks from the backplane, added power and connected the forward breakout cable from the hdds directly to the raid controller. It didn't see them with either the forward or the reverse breakout cables.
Added the expander back into the mix and it didn't change...
Hi All,
I've been looking for answers to my issue and can't seem to find anything. I'm hoping that someone here may have an answer or two for me.
A little background on my setup:
Norco 4220 (original backplane had capacitors in reverse polarity and set 4 hdds on fire)
Intel S1200BTL...
