Core Voltage used to stay at ~1.37V now drops to 1.1-1.2 even though its 1.4 in BIOS

Reset meaning re-flash the BIOS or reset the CMOS? Also, could it be due to a weak PSU? [Update: Fixed! Reflashing the BIOS got it to work! Thanks all! :D]

Core Voltage used to stay at ~1.37V now drops to 1.1-1.2 even though its 1.4 in BIOS

Hey all, So I got my q6600 to 3ghz at 1.4V vcore in the BIOS (~1.37 after Vdroop). Then all of a sudden my computer went unstable. Turns out that the voltage reads ridiculously low all of sudden so of course it's not stable. But I can't modify the voltage anymore it seems. Even though my...

Could someone recommend a good 8800GT (in terms of $/oc'ability)

Can anyone recommend a good 8800gt that has a good balance between overclockability and price? Also is it a good time to get the 8800gt because I heard something about the GTX2xx coming out but I'm not too sure if they'll match the price/performance ratio of the 8800gt. :D

how do you know how the two rails are split?

Just checked. Both 12V chains are at 14.68v with and without the HDs plugged in. The 5V chain is at 6.05V. Sounds really out of whack? UPDATE: The Mobo voltage sensors read 11.94 with the HD in.

New Rig, P35 chipset or P45?

Awhile ago, someone recommended I get the P35 chipset for my rig: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128086 I saw a related board with the P45 chipset: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128344 And I was wondering what is the difference between...

how do you know how the two rails are split?

not now. i did before and the board was a real cheap one and if you went too high, it would corrupt the HD...maybe it destroyed the IDE controller?

how do you know how the two rails are split?

Weird because once I unplugged my 2 IDE drives, it had never crashed since. I don't know what it could be about them that made it stop.

q6600 for $180 at Fry's, buy or wait until end of summer?

My local Fry's Electronics has the q6600 for $180 right now. I'm planning on building my new system at the tail of this coming summer. I was thinking, should I wait and buy later? Like will Intel drop the prices of the q6600? I have never seen such a price drop on the q6600 until recently so...

help with a pentium 805 that's only made it to 3.1ghz

Hmmm maybe I should reapply the thermal paste. It won't boot up at 3.4ghz though so it not heat-related. :(

help with a pentium 805 that's only made it to 3.1ghz

Ya I have to agree. The e21x0 are so cheap, but I already had everything installed on here months before I thought of overclocking it. :\ I've been just fiddling around with the clock settings this weekend, even though I know the Prescotts run real hot to begin with. I stopped at 3.1ghz, but...

help with a pentium 805 that's only made it to 3.1ghz

I know what you guys are thinking, especially since the 805 has been know to got to 3.6ghz on air. I'm pretty sure this is the best that I can do, considering that I got the cpu with the mobo for super cheap (think $80). :p I'm using an ECS RC410L/800-M (probably the cheapest mobo ever made)...
