Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think WD has answered the question.

I'm not sure how you manage to disable TLER on your drives. Maybe yours are older versions?
Thank for the response.
I don't know enough about the error recovery to know if maybe it's done in stages with later stages using "deeper" (but much slower) methods to try to grab unreadable bits. The manufacturers say the process could take over 2 minutes, so not sure what is happening...
I've seen many articles with people wanting to turn CCTL/ERC/TLER on for consumer grade drives so the can be used in a raid.
I'm looking for the exact opposite. I want a raid level drive, for 24\7 use but with deep recovery.
I want the dual actuators, extra vibration control, and higher MTBF...
