Which quiet fan to get ?

I'd stick to the panaflo or if quiet is what your after then i'd get some yate loon or nexus(modified yate loons) fans. i use a 92mm and 2 120mm yate loons and they are very quiet and even better when undervolted.

    55C Load, Or Is It?

I doubt that you installed the heatsink wrong. With those strong clips on the thermalrights i don't see how you could have, but i would check the AS5. Also i know alot of people have gotten the thermalrights with a concave center. I know when I lapped mine it was it was pretty concave. If this...

    55C Load, Or Is It?

Does the MSI take the temp from under the socket or from the die. The reason I ask is because I have a 4400+ @2.4 1.325v on an a8n-sli premium, and it seems to measure form the socket. The reason I think this is because in speedfan there are two temps that could likely be the CPU. One matches up...

Low vcore with Asus A8N-SLI Premium

I have low voltages reported with everything in the bios. what are your other voltages reading out of curiosity? What power supply are you using? I have an s12 500 and all voltages seem low. To answer your question my vcore always reports lower than what it is set. I run my 4400+@ 2.4 at 1.325v...

    Heatsink Lapping

This guy does. It wasn't worth it to me. http://www.motherboardrepair.com/index.php?sec=hslapping I'm sure the kit will work fine. Just know there are other alternatives out there, if your in a pinch, don't want to pay shipping, etc...

    Heatsink Lapping

The weight of the heatsink is plenty especially if it is copper. By applying pressure with your hands you will inevitably end up with an uneven surface because your weight will shift so much. Also you could also buy the supplies at a local autozone or equivilant. and achieve the same results if...

Dell XPS 600 Review at PC Mag

I'm more interested in the quadro 4500 cooler on their 7800s. Man i wish you could order that for any 7800gtx. I wish evga would have just sold that as there upgraded cooler rather than new one they make. Anyway somewhat off topic but i just love that cooler.

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

Yeah most likely it is clocked the same speed or lower than the 7800. All the fancy shaders and stuff don't matter much in a workstation environment. Pure geomtry throughput and stability is more important because these cards will most likely be used to give sold fps in the viewports when...

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

nvidia doesn't list speed on their workstation cards. like the 7800gtx there are many different clockspeeds within the core. I think they did say the pixel proc runs at 430 though.

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

My guess is it won't take long before you can softquadro a 7800 into a quadro 4500 just like you could turn a 6800 into a quadro 4000, or a ti4600 into a 900xgl. The only thing anyone would gain by switching to the quadro over the 7800 is twice the memory and that badass cooler. Well by the...

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

I wouldn't know mine doesn't come in until tom. Maybe i'm just spending too much time at the SPCR forums. Those guys are crazy about silence! :D

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

I was just wondering. ;) As for where you would get it. I dunno maybe you could get a replacement form PNY or HP or find a bad card. I'm sure some would fail. Regardleess. it would be a nice setup. My new pc that i'm finishing is going to be very quiet except for the 7800. I could get the...

So the "big" 7800 is a quadro after all

Anyone think that this cooler would fit on a 7800gtx if you could find one. It looks like with that big of a fan and heatpipes that you could undervolt the fan and and have a quiet and cool 7800. http://www.xbitlabs.com/misc/picture/?src=/images/news/2005-07/quadro4500_bg.jpg&1=1...

    Abit IC 7 MAX 3

I have this board with a 2.4c @3.0 daily and as high as ~3.4-3.5 for testing. It has been awesome. The OTES fan went out so I ordered a new one from abit for like 6 bucks and 3 days later it was back to normal. And i too will be selling my system as soon as Geil gets my new memory back to me...
