    Advice for NAS solution

That correct as far as I know. So that is why I am looking at a Dell R310, which supports ECC RAM. I just need to know what to look for as far as how to connect 2 drives on the server. What kind of card (HBA, RAID) do I need, and I want to make sure that it will work with WD Red 2TB drives. I...

    Advice for NAS solution

Well... as far as I know... FreeNAS doesn't like RAID controllers when you put drives in a RAID. So HBA should just be able to see drives and not put them in a RAID config. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

    Advice for NAS solution

which HBA card are you using? I assume that I could use the same HBA card in an R310/R410.

    Advice for NAS solution

The reason I am looking at an ext4 solution is because it's all built and in a single box.Having said that, the purpose for this thread is to find out other options, primarily where I could use FreeNAS because of ZFS and advantages you specified. I just really want to make sure that if I...

    Advice for NAS solution

I appreciate the input guys. Like I said, I currently have an HP DL380 G6 and the fans, while audible are not deafening, which is something that I am looking for from a NAS solution. My biggest turn off with QNAP/Synology is to get write speeds anything above 150MB/s you have to spend...

    GPU question

My CPU usage is around 45%. I just checked it. It will jump to 60% sometimes.. but it stays around 40%. I have tried on 1280x720 and then I just tried 1680x1050 which is my monitor's native resolution. I seems as though it's running the same with the two resolutions. It's alittle better with the...

    GPU question

I need some help in determining what could be causing the slow frame rate in my system. Some background first... I have a pretty old system, it's an Intel quad core CPU, one of the first ones that came out in 2007/2008. The CPU is paired with an Intel mobo (dg33tl) with one PCIe (V1.0)...
