    It's worth a playthrough but hard to say whether it's worth playing all of HL1 just for a look at xen. I replay HL1 every few years but usually stop around xen. If you got nothing better to do just replay the original I guess. Could be interesting to see the differences whenever they finish...

    I have 2 older desktops. 37" tv has e6600 2gb x850xt (lga775 with agp and ddr) 50" tv has e5200 4gb hd3850 They are pretty worthless for reselling but beyond awesome. Both are great for watching movies and streaming. Both of them can play the majority of my favorite games. Both of them run xp.

    Good turn based games suggestions

    Total War series (I like Rome the best) Eschalon Book 1 and 2 Fallout 1, 2, Tactics Disciples 1-3 GalCiv 2 Civ 4 if you haven't played. Lots of mods. I recommend Rise of Mankind / A New Dawn / Caveman to Cosmos.
