    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

I am happily using mine pretty much every day with no issues at all, so that is less than three months from 5 years of use. I have looked for a replacement as I would like to have HDMI 2.0, but have not been able to find one that ticks all the boxes. From your description it sounds to me as...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

Interesting prospect. I have heard some people have tried, hated it and found them self having to get rid of their purchase but others love it. You can emulate the ultra wide experience with the Philips, set the game resolution to say 3840x1440 or 3440x1440, the monitor in 1:1 mode and you'll...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

Hi, Generally I play in full 4K, but some, especially older, games doesn't support that so at times I do use other resolutions and it has been without issues. The 1440p you mention is a 16:9 aspect ration so proportions fit with the physical size of the monitor* meaning it will be all good...

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

I haven't done the USB C think, but you should be able to use a USB C to DisplayPort adapter. The monitor doesn't have any special provisions for USB C.

    Frustration - I can't find THE 40-43" 4K All-purpose monitor - suggestions?

I am hoping that 40"ish monitors are gonna become a thing. Back when I bought my current Philips in the spring of 2015 it was pretty much the only real monitor of that size which wasn't a 1080p one meant for like a screen in a conference room. Since then a lot more choice has come into the large...

    Frustration - I can't find THE 40-43" 4K All-purpose monitor - suggestions?

Going to a five digit figure is not gonna happen. Some major lottery winnings would have to come my way to consider doing so - after all this is a monitor and tech moves fast these days (even with monitors). It is not like back when I invested in a Sony GDM-F520 and it remained the greatest...

    Frustration - I can't find THE 40-43" 4K All-purpose monitor - suggestions?

Exactly. From what I have been finding so far it seems like LG might be worth keeping an eye on. Not their OLED as the technology has the burn in issue, but their Super UHD screens which look really interesting - it is IPS panels with an extra coating that allows for higher contrast and more...

    Frustration - I can't find THE 40-43" 4K All-purpose monitor - suggestions?

I wasn't referring to the color space, but to how the sub-pixels should be arranged. For example that Philips 436M6VBPAB uses BGR rather than RGB which is part of why it isn't great for text. Also. Don't be negative - I didn't ask for having someone fold my laundry. Maybe you missed that I...

    Frustration - I can't find THE 40-43" 4K All-purpose monitor - suggestions?

I am a long time user of the 40" Philips BDM4065UC which was perfect when I went big monitor in 2015, in fact it is still great only it is missing HDMI 2.0 and only DP1.2 is also becoming an issue. So I am looking for a replacement, but so far I am failing to find it. As I suspect other might...

Philips Momentum 43" 4K HDR gaming display

Another review is in: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/philips_436m6vbpab.htm It pretty much confirms what we have learned from other reviews. The monitor is good for gaming and has issues when it comes to displaying text and static images. I guess I shall be looking for something else to...

Philips Momentum 43" 4K HDR gaming display

Hard to say. As mentioned on the Danish site the 00 and 01 are described identically and that goes for the sales pitch, specs, pictures and all. It used to be that the 01 was marked as a new product, but that marking is gone now and my guess it is simply some automatic thing on the site removed...

Philips Momentum 43" 4K HDR gaming display

A 49" would mean to low a DPI. It may be fine for gaming in some situations, but would be a bad solution for desktop use. 49" is 90 DPI, that is bigger pixels than a old 24" 1080p. The 43" is like 104 DPI so while not stellar still better

Philips Momentum 43" 4K HDR gaming display

A little update. As mentioned a little back I wrote to Philips and asked them on 436M6VBPAB/00 vs. 436M6VBPAB/01 since they list both on the website, with only difference I can see being the later marked as "New" ie. a newer version of the monitor one would guess. Disappointingly so far no reply...

Philips Momentum 43" 4K HDR gaming display

I was thinking the same thing, but then why does the Danish Phillips website have both the 00 and the 01. Here in the EU the UK is using one type of wall socket design and the rest of us(AFAIK) are all using a different a bit more compact one, so that could like explain why there are two...
