Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I just flashed my Nook HD+ plus to CM 10.1 and it is really nice, but not perfect. The development of the ROM is way ahead of the Kindle Fire 8.9. Much lighter than the Kindle as well, but I still think the 8.9 is superior for video.
I'm building my ESXi box at the moment and currently OC'ing in Windows 7 before putting ESXi on it. The board is a Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 Rev 3.0 and unfortunately I can only overlock it stable to 4.5Ghz. Apparently 3.0 are horrible to OC with. Anyway my question is when I do put ESXi 5.1 on...
Yeah SSD is the only way to go for storage of the VMs if you're not going with a RAID array. I have MicroCenter near the house so I can get the 8350 for 179 and 40 bucks off the same motherboard you have in your setup. I plan to overclock hopefully to 5ghz with the h100 cosair liquid cooling...
Just curious how are you liking your build so far? I'm building something similar but will probably have an SSD for the VMs, You have any issues running anything so far? You thinking of putting a RAID setup in your build?
I just did a self install cable card with HDHomerun Prime. The only issue I had was on my end with the windows firewall blocking the traffic. Other than that issue the watching experience is very much worth the pain. :D I'm watching NFL network in HD on my computer while typing this.
I'm cutting about $25 bucks off my cable bill plus I don't have to ever use the inferior STBs that verizon provides. The only downside is I can't order my boxing because I lose on-demand capability.
I'm using this combo for my HTPC and my idle temps with just Media Center watching live tv is at 36c. This is of course with the craptastical intel heatsink.
I'm not getting this whine noise you guys are talking about on my board though.
Yeah I got the board and the processor for the original sale price. I was wrong on the board though. :( The board is actually the same model with out the hdmi output. (MSI H61M P23) This isn't an issue for me since I already have a ATI HD5450 card and will rebuild my HTPC with this combo.
