Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Foreign claim to a mark of 5488. Being true, this would put the 86GTS on range with the 7900GT/GTX.
Courtesy: JayDeeJohn for the find.
Secondary manufacturers will shorten it. Speculating 8 or 9 inches.
Interesting article that completely contradicts [H]OCP's upon power consumption.

Couldn't imagine ATI...
You may be able to handle the 7800GS; not a huge performance gain over the 7600GT but worthy if the price is right. Knowing the amperage rating on your +12 volt rail(s) (rails - because the PSU may have more than one +12v rail) is as important as peak wattage to know. If you have a +12v 1 or A...
Bigger is better for air-flow and ambient temperature (spacing out components); especialy if you game and overclock.
You could add some LEDs to make it worth looking at. ;) But I guess thats why "god" makes laptops, for people who don't want the full 'shibang'.
Thats quite a jump in videocards; absolutely worth it.
400 watts should do it as long as your system isn't extremely loaded. Whats really important is having sufficient amperage on your +12 volt rail(s) to satisfy the 78GS requirement.
The 7300GT overclocks to 7600GS performance and beyond easily, especialy for 2 year old games and back. For todays games, more pipelines helps performance, regardless of overclocking. If your looking at games like HL2 and further back, I'd buy a 73GT and overclock the hell out of it. It's cheap.
FEAR on an MX440?
Mainly, you need to know if you have PCI-E or AGP available. If your stuck with PCI, your gonna be bummed. And yes, the 7600GT is worlds beyond the MX440. Even a 7300GT would work wonders - at around 80 bucks.
Dude, there isn't. I took a trip to Moncton this summer and was able to cruise at 85mph without any traffic - in a large city... on a Saturday night. Loved the landscape up there, nice open long freeways.
I've got a gripe though - I couldn't buy beer at a convenience store (only a liquer...

Another option: Standalone - Fits in your 5.25" drive bay @ 300w peak. Powerfull enough to run SLi 7900GT's at 55$. Transferable from case to case :o
The 76GS calls for 18 amps (with most brands) for those with loaded systems - it won't suck up the complete 18a. It may run on that PSU being a low power GPU, yet it may lock up. Depends on how full your system is also.
I'd buy a more sufficient PSU. 400 watts with a +12 volt rail at 20+ amps...
