Make sure your motherboard is supported by the raid card manufactures tend to have short lists but if you look around online you can normally find out if the card will work with your motherboard. I know that they are a little more expensive but 3ware cards have never let me down. Check out...

    Seattle Tops Most-Wired Cities List

No that's the rate that I pay for 12Mbit service but the best that it has ever run is 4 to 5Mbit. The only cable TV provider in the area is supposed to be Comcrap. The promo rate on the internet is $30 / month when you first sign up. FIOS is offered on the eastside and north of Seattle but...

    Seattle Tops Most-Wired Cities List

I'm in the city limits and I only pay $42 + tax from comcrap internet. FIOS will not be coming into the city limits for the foreseeable future because the telecoms are regulated by the city and they only want one TV provider (comcast is it right now).

Looking to get a new HDD. 500GB - 1TB. Any Recommendations?

I would say any of the Samsungs avoid the current (7200.11) Seagates like the plague.

    Help Me Build a HTPC

Yes but he said that he would probably upgrade soon and anything that can play 1080p video will most likely be able to handle his new projector / TV unless they go to 2160p or something crazy like that.

    Seagate 1.5tb firmware upgrade needed?

I would not update any of the SDXX drives until the new fix comes out. SDA1 has been causing drives to become paper weights and they have pulled it. The main problem with the firmware on your drives is that the drive may lock up for 20-30 seconds during a slow transfer such as streaming audio /...

With your movies on the Hard drive, what do you use to catalog them?

MyMovies +1 works great in MCE 2005 and Vista Media Center

Hardware RAID card that supports Seagate 1.5TB disks? Please help!

I've heard that that 3ware 9650 works with these drives. I just picked up a brand new 16 port version of this card of ebay for $500 (newegg has it for $800 something). I have 4 of these drives right now that I will be moving over to my new 3ware card when it arrives later this week. I'll let you...

Everyone in here so we can straighten out the Seagate problem...

I have 4 of the 1.5TB ones from newegg that I purchased around new years day. None of them have had any issues at all and have come with good firmwares. I am going to order another 2 of these soon for my raid 6 array.
