Thanks for the wiring compliments guys!
I ran all the wires behind the motherboard, and tucked the unused ones above the CD-ROM at the top.
Here's another shot of the case:
7800GS costs too much for the performance it provides...
Anyway...3dmark 05 score with this 6800GS was....5373. Not too shabby if you ask me..
If you have an older AGP system, and you are looking for something to extend the life of it, this card is perfect.
Thanks for the comments guys!
The card is a BFG Tech 6800GS OC, with an Arcitc Cooling Silencer on it. Temps @ Idle are 48c.
I will run some 3dmark in a few and let you know what it scores for those that care. :p
The AGP Aperture Size, or AAS allows your system memory to be shared with your video card to allow it more memory for textures and such.
Look at it kinda like an overflow for your video card...if all the memory on the video card is actually being used, it can set aside a special section of...
Just wanted to post my experience with the 6800GS...
I was planning on doing a complete system rebuild, and ditching this old S478/AGP machine in favor of a AMD dual core setup. That was until I got the 6800GS :p
I had a 9800pro, and picked up the 6800GS not expecting too much...when I...
For the price, the 7800GS is not a good choice.....especially since you can pick up a 6800GS for under 200 bucks.
I couldn't be happier with my 6800GS...wonderful card for squeezing the last bit of life from your AGP system.
I just slapped a BFG 6800GS in my machine and LOVE it.
The extra shader unlocked no prob, however the extra 4 pipes gave artifacts while playing.
I also slapped a NV Silencer on it, and the temps are wonderful.
I play WoW, Fear, Quake 4...all without any problems. Great last upgrade...
Well...after hours of reboots, and a few bowls of umm...cereal, it looks like I finally found a nice stable overclock for both my video and CPU.
Got the Prescott 3.0 up to 3.6 stable @ 1.5v.
Temps are 48c idle, 58-60c full load (Prime full load, small FFT's)
The BFG 6800GS I picked up...
I will post my stuff once I get home and snap some shots (at work right now  ).
I will also take some snap shots of the computer room I have been working on...concrete floors and all!
Yeah...I will be doing water cooling on my next rig. For a WC setup I wanted to start from scratch, with the right case.
So far my current machine has been wonderful...completely stable, no problems at all.
But after finally getting back into PC gaming (was really dissapointed with my...
Cooling will be the same Zalman HSF I am currently using.
Yes, I haved OC'd it to 3.8, with the memory running at 266mhz , but the machine was NOT stable...would reboot right after booting windows.
I did get it in windows at 3.6, but the machine rebooted after about 20 mins of a sandra...
Was wondering if someone could give me some advice on my upcomming system upgrade..
Currently the system is as follows:
Socket478 Prescott 3.0Ghz CPU
Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCU HSF
Asus p4c800-e Deluxe
1GB cheap value ram
Radeon 9800 Pro
TT PurePower 420w PSU
I ordered a G.Skill HZ 2gb...
