    This type of packaging is done to reduce the width of the box which makes shipping cheaper and storage more efficient, but it doesn't protect the screen all that well. ASUS started doing the same a while back with similarly bad results.

    With a 5K2K custom resolution, you're just using the middle 5120x2160 section of the 57" screen, which is good for gaming. I got tired of having 3 setups - one for docking the work laptop, one for non-work "productivity", and one for gaming, so consolidated to 2 setups.

    I haven't spent the time trying to narrow down what's going on. I think Windows just hangs badly because even pressing the power button doesn't make Windows go into its shutdown operation as it normally would when the system isn't hung.

    Not sure what 32" 6K buys you vs 4K. Text is a bit sharper (a noticeable, but not huge difference). Features (high-refresh rates, HDR quality) are lacking for 6K. You don't get more work area - the scaling factor needs to be increased.
