Looking for an extremely cheap computer

Unfortunately, I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm not gonna get as much computer as I want for the price I'm willing to spend. After all, this computer isn't even for me. :P I am looking to spend like 100 maybe 150 max. So if you have something you're willing to sell in that range, let me...

I have a video card that I'm going to throw in it, so no point in paying for something I already have. :)

Looking for an extremely cheap computer

Hey all, I'm looking for a computer for my girlfriend's brother. I only need the computer, no monitor, mouse or keyboard needed. I need something that will run Photoshop CS2 and Maya 8.5 and a little light gaming. So basically, I'm looking for a P4 or AMD equivalent, 1 GB of decently fast RAM...

Core 2 duo E6300 Overclocking question

Your temps seem fine for a stock cooler. I had my E6300 on stock air at one point, and it idled at 54C(our computer room is unreasonably hot for some reason) Now I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and it idles at 35-40C. As for the settings for your mobo, can't help you out there. Sorry.

    Proposed build: expert opinions?

I looked at the AMD processor and Foxconn mobo in zero_vertical's sig, and that seems to be a cheap/low power/low heat alternative to an Intel chip. Everything else would work out though, you guys think?

    Proposed build: expert opinions?

Sooo, I'm thinking about doing a budget HTPC build(read: as dirt cheap as possible) and I've been absorbing knowledge about the subject, and put together this preliminary list: Mobo: Biostar Micro 775 SE Processor: P4 631 Cedar Mill 3.0ghz RAM: 1GB Kingston DDR2-667 HDD: WD 320GB...

i don't want that thick moulding for a window mod...

As far as molding goes, I think it's a matter of personal preference, so that's pretty much up to you whether you want to use molding or rivets or whatever. Yeah, there are various places online that sell C-molding, but I found it easier to just run down the street to Wal-Mart. They're...

i don't want that thick moulding for a window mod...

I don't have any pictures of the actual process because my girlfriend borrowed my digital camera, but I suppose I could toss up some pictures of the finished product. I had doubts as to whether or not it would hold the plexiglass securely so I used heavy-duty double-sided tape(found at...

i don't want that thick moulding for a window mod...

What I did is just go to Wal-Mart's automotive section, they have some door trim for about 3 dollars. It's 4 feet or so worth, and it worked great for me. I used a piece of paper(8.5"x11") as a reference for cutting the hole, so I went to Ace Hardware and got a 12"x12" sheet of plexi for $2.30...

    Motherboard and RAM compatibility question

Hey, I've searched the memory and motherboard forums for a while, and I couldn't find quite the correct answer for this(probably stupid) question. Now, I have 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM, and a shitty motherboard. I'm getting a P5B-E shortly, and it's rated for DDR2-800 RAM. Is there any reason I...
