boostrap,
well it is strange. on their product profile it would seem the monitor does not have dvi but in the press release it says it does. maybe the press release means you can use the adapter.
i sure would like to know this and when these things would be available.
I was about to order this monitor off NCIX. But as of Feb 1st they say they cannot process US credit cards. I just moved so I don't have a paypal address that is certified and I don't really want to deal with that.
Waiting on newegg for firmware updated units or the viewsonic.
there is very little information on these monitors. Engadget's original article seemed to imply they had: hdmi, vga, dvi, component and i think a composite input as well. I thought the 24" inch was supposed to ship this month, yet no information is available about it.
i'm in the exact same boat. i am waiting for the viewsonic to come out. until then there is really nothing to do but wait. it is difficult though, my ps3 is eager to push out some 1080p goodness.
i just returned the sceptre 22" (terrible...) and am now looking at the viewsonic 24". It is january 22nd I should think we should have more information that just "Feb".
I just received this monitor and hooked it up to my ps3 via hdmi. the image is very ugly. at 1080p there is all types of color problems and at 1080i it is better but it still looks very problematic.
I have no idea if this is my monitor, my ps3, or my hdmi cable. any ideas on things i...
great... right after i order the sceptre 22" in desperation the firmware starts to show up.
guess i'll return the sceptre and order this once more confirmations come in. back to my 14" crt for now.
All of that was not required to answer the question. Please save your opinions on the different consoles for the appropriate board.
Back on topic: I broke down and am about to order the sceptre 22" as a temporary solution. I was waiting on the 1:1 fix for the BenQ but I have movies to watch...
It isn't on the back of the unit? Hmm well it might be on the box or manual or something. Do not trouble yourself looking, it isn't terribly important at this point.
Hmm warm should be normal, not sure about 'pretty warm'. Someone else with this model can verify on that. But could you post your monitor's manufacturing date? A few of us would like to know if the 'December' models are around.
It is troubling because I am waiting on the fixed units to start showing up on newegg, yet if others are waiting for that as well then it is not going to happen anytime soon. I am guessing most people putting $800-900 on a monitor have done their research and will be aware of the defect. It...
I've been lurking on this thread for quite some time now and my opinion of BenQ has dropped to the point where even if the firmware fix is perfect I no longer feel good about ordering one of their products. I still can't even believe these monitors made it out the door with such a critical...
