Make sure that lead acid battery is rated to be tipped up, if it isn't it might leak, and it is the bad stuff that'll come out, sulfuric acid, not no wussy potassium hydroxide like what comes outta alkaline batteries.
Ockie always seems [or at least used to] have good things to say about norco, and he's really into the whole rackmount thing, so I'd say it'd probably be a fine case.
The case is 16" wide so you can use the drawer slide type things. Forgot what the technical term for them is, but they let you...
I used a keyboard controller thing from a USB keyboard in a NES controller for emulators, it works fine. You just gotta look at where the keys connect, as some keyboards have different pinouts as far as the connection between the keys and the controller.
Really? My mini itx setup will fit any card up to 11.5", not counting the projection that attaches it to the case, if you measure the card with that projection then it'll fit a 12" card.
It ain't even all that special, a cheapo chinese case, and an old minix mobo. It'll fit almost anything so...
Nice mod so far, gotta give some respect to anyone who buys a mill when they need one.
Please tell me you aren't buying all of your aluminum stock at a hardware store. You can get it for around $4/lb as drop at steelyards.
You may have a problem with the foam on the motherboard tray, the mosfets on the back of the mobo will need a bit of cooling, the foam just acts like an insulator.
This is assuming there is anything that would get hot on the back of the mobo...
Yeah, just go with the MI-100 I posted... It is ugly, but it'll fit tons of drives if you know where to put them.
Actually, they just came out with a new one I guess... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811154091
I wish I could get the face plate from this one, I hate the...
Old drives were 1.6" thick I'm assuming that is the 1T one, now they are 1", so I guess that is the 0.8T one.
EDIT: Looking at the drive cage in the pics it means one of the drive bays is .8" thick, so you'd have to get one of the fancy low profile drives for it. Or just throw the drive on some...
There is enough room in the MI-100 for 3 drives, 4 if you don't mind blocking a bit of airflow, and 5 if you do some modding. Also, when I got mine it was only $50.
Somewhat unrelated, but a test of this concept is what caused the chernobyl accident. They tried to see if the steam turbines' momentum to generate enough electricity to shut off the reactor in an emergency, it worked, they shut it off too far and tried to start it without waiting a while for it...
:D Sim tower is the first game I ever got, played the heck outta it... If you can find it "yoot tower" is a newer version with more stuff.
Nice one there, not old at all. A P3 is fine for what a laptop does...
