    i believe hard drives are of the 7200.11 variant. i'd have to check but if i recall correctly they are .11

    as someone earlier said.. if you need high freq -> e8400 if you need more cores -> q6600 make sure you get the g0 stepping for q6600

    no fans including on the power supply? or just as little as possible.. i know some of the shuttles use purely ONLY heatpipe design.. and if you pair it with a 45nm c2d you might have a pretty cool running sys.

    is hdmi supposed to lower the size ratio of SD channels?

    it's not ideal to swtich between outputs on your system (hdmi/rca) if you watch both hd and sd content. i am not familiar with your STB, but both my tv and stb have an aspect ratio changer (stretch).. if it's plasma it should usually have it. if not.. i can't really think of another way atm..
