    x850 pro upgrade?

Im not sure if it has come up yet, but at ncix users are saying that they have good results with the Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO2 card (I was reading the forum messages as Im considering picking up this card for roughly $260 canadian) Seems it has 16 pipes out of the box now (or has 100% rate of...

    biostar 6100-939+146 and WoW

I have the slightly higher 6150 with a 3200+ venice and 1GB ram and it does handle the game ok, although it is not as smooth as I would have hoped when moving around. Im running at 1024x768 and have about medium quality settings (some settings on/ some settings off)

    QPack fan

Spin the fan around and test it out.... Im getting better temps in my case with a coolermaster facing the other way & drawing air in vs. out. Its better for me also as it cools my 2 sata drives directly.

    QPack fan

I popped in an inexpensive LED Coolermaster fan, pretty quiet considering it cost me only $5. I also reversed the fan flow direction (to suck air in) and I noticed that the temperature in my two SATA drive area is a lot cooler than before (and general case temps are slightly lower).

Looking for advice on my first SFF

If it is the same size as the newer 3550, and especially if your using the original power supply it will fit. Im using the NEC 3550 with a 430W S12 powersupply and the drive just barely makes it, no room to remove the cables once they are in, but it does fit

Finally recieved my A8N-VM CSM (with pics)

The difference to me is that the Zalman actually overlaps the ram (and northbridge), and is quite a bit more silent than the stock HSF. Of course it wont provide adequate cooling for a major overclock, but thats not what this ASUS board is about. Im running my 3200+ venice @ 2.3G (230 FSB, a...

Help! What's wrong with my new system??

The only thing that might make sense for that to work is that one of the power-switch connector wires is damaged and makes contact with the case at some point inside. When the wire is connected, it completes the ground activation and powers on the system. By switching, the damaged wire will...

Help! What's wrong with my new system??

I have the A8N-VM CSM and although Im happy, it might be a bit finicky too right now. when I added a hauppage PVR-150 PCI, it knocked out the onboard sound (and would not install drivers for the PVR)... had to change PCI slots to get it to work... reseating did not help. Also, my new NEC...

Finally recieved my A8N-VM CSM (with pics)

Yeah, that is nice ram... I just returned my defective corsair, and decided to go with OCZ also (premier series though). With the Zalman 7000B heatsink, it spills air all over the ram and as we speak the copper on it is still cool to the touch. No idea about the heat with a stock HSF. I...

What fans to replace stock 120s in V1100b?

I also picked up a Coolermaster LED silent 120mm for cheap, and its pretty quiet compared to the original aspire fan. Sounds like a faint humm in the background at full voltage.

Finally recieved my A8N-VM CSM (with pics)

The Gigabyte board was almost ideal with the HDTV breakout, but the drawback for me was that it did not have any DVI connectors onboard. I would have waited if it had a DVI standard connector, (with a breakout adaptor for the normal VGA signal).. would have even payed more too for the extra...

Finally recieved my A8N-VM CSM (with pics)

Bad news I guess.... seems 1 stick of my corsair DDR pair is defective. (It will bootup fine with the other stick so the board is ok). Stupid thing is that now I have to RMA the RAM, and probably have to wait a week for the replacement. Guess it gives me a chance to buy another pair locally :)...

Finally recieved my A8N-VM CSM (with pics)

Well, finally picked up my A8N-VM CSM today after getting it on order, and I thought I'd share a few pics for the people who were thinking of this board. Im pretty sure I got the first run though, as the manual was stapled together (asus usually has better quality) and the writing on the board...

    Asus 6150 At The EGG...!!!!!!

I have some hope for this board for one reason..... its listed on the website as the AMD Flagship MicroATX Motherboard (even though there are so few MicroATX's anyways). The A8NE-FM was never even listed on the asus website at all, showing their commitment to it... heck, even my local shop...
